What We Offer:

The City of Oxford Silver Band is a friendly local brass band with four active ensembles. The City of Oxford Silver Band is Oxford’s oldest brass band with a history that dates back to the 1840s. We at our own bandhall in Temple Cowley, Oxford. We welcome beginners as well as experienced players and can even supply an instrument. We can provide a full-size band or smaller groups for all kinds of public and private events. We have a purpose-built hall with good parking, in Oxford which is available to hire by other groups. The City of Oxford Silver Band Concert and Contest Band plays throughout the year at venues across the county as well as at contests organised by ODBBA, and the London and Southern Counties Region of the National Championships.

The band have performed at Oxford Race For Life for a number of years now and are an absolutely incredible source of support for us and our participants. They are absolutely brilliant players and really get people feeling inspired and joyful when taking part in our events – an absolute joy to have and we hope to work with them for years to come!
We thoroughly enjoyed the bands enthusiasm, and sincerely thank them all for giving up their time in aid of the hospice (on the night and in regards to the time everyone put in to practising!). They were fantastic! We loved the way they interacted with the audience. Moreover, they were professional to work with before, during and after the event. A great addition to any event.
It was great to have the City of Oxford Silver Band take part in our annual Oxford Open Doors event once again this year. The performances at Oxford Castle & Prison were hugely popular with visitors and the annual weekend would not be the same without them. All the best from the Oxford Preservation Trust team.

What We Offer:

The Firrenes (it rhymes with “beans”) are a melodic, song-based rock band from Edinburgh, Scotland, performing original material. The band’s principal songwriter is Jules Reed (aka composer Julian Wagstaff), with additional contributions from Walt Cumming. The band’s musical style is eclectic and varied, with influences ranging from 70’s rock, Americana, blues and R&B through to indie, alt rock, art pop and classical. Their influences are wide-ranging and include Bowie, Springsteen, Amy Winehouse, Neil Young and many more. The band is led by Jules Reed (aka composer Julian Wagstaff) and features Fiona Dabjen on sax and vocals. We are located in the heart of Cowley Road, Oxford.

We had a brilliant evening watching the Firrenes play at the Voodoo rooms in Edinburgh. Really enjoyed all the songs, the band were tight and sounded great. Would definitely recommend.
I met the band listening to the songs here in Brazil, Jules Reed voice is amazing, the timbre of his voice is perfect. A hug to everyone in the band, I hope one day I will be able to hear the songs live, they won a fan here in Brazil🇧🇷🎸🎵🎶

Door Too Wide is a brilliant album with some really catchy songs, and depth too in the lyrics and themes. The title track is great, “Everything Solid Melts into Air” also is upbeat with quirky, emotive references to life in East Germany and the fall of the wall.

What We Offer:

Norman Mackay’s Ceilidh Experience originally formed in Edinburgh in 2002. Now the Ceilidh band of choice for Rock stars, soap stars and famous politicians, they have gone on to perform at weddings, corporate events and festivals all over the UK and throughout Europe. The Ceilidh Experience are based in Edinburgh but perform all over the UK & throughout Europe. The band combine the classic ceilidh dances, that we all know and love, with modern bass lines, beats, samples & effects creating a sound which really gets the crowd moving. Don’t worry if you have guests coming from overseas or who have never ceilidh danced before as the dances will be called/explained as much or as little as required.

Norman and the band played at our recent wedding at Mansfield Traquair – they were amazing. They made the dances clear to understand, they were so patient with all the drunken guests and they got the party started from the moment they began. A decent amount of our guests had never been to a Scottish wedding before and they were blown away by the ceilidh. I can’t thank them enough for the amazing job they all did
Norman and his fellow musicians were absolutely fabulous at our wedding this past June. My family is from the United States, and so had never encountered a ceilidh before. Needless to say, they absolutely loved every second of it,
The Ceilidh Experience played at our wedding at the end of 2013 and they were outstanding!! Simply put they are top-class musicians with great energy and stage presence.
